Dr. Lei Lin attended medical school at Shanghai First Medical College (Shanghai, China), where she graduated with highest honors. She finished her Ph.D. in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.

Dr. Lin completed her residency training at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, and was named chief resident of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2000. She is a board certified physiatrist with a sub-specialty certification in Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She specializes in electrodiagnostic medicine, neurological disorders, neuromuscular disorders, orthopedic rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, stroke, and amputee rehabilitation.

Dr. Lin joined JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute (JRI) in 2001 and has contributed to the growth of several programs, including electrodiagnostic medicine, stroke, and orthopedic rehab. She was named the Research Director at JRI in 2001 - 2006. She teaches residents and medical students extensively in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine.

In 2006, Dr. Lin received the Kathy Ng Wong, M.D. Memorial Award from JRI. This award is presented to the physician who exhibits the highest degree of kindness, compassion, and concern for patients and their families.

Dr. Lin has authored or co-authored many articles and abstracts and was assistant editor for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Review book. She has lectured extensively on various rehabilitation topics. Dr. Lin is active in a number of state and national organizations, and served on the research committee of the Academic Association of Physiatrist in 2002 - 2004.
