Dr. Caroline McCagg received her M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT in 1966 and  completed her residency in Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation at New York University Medical Center (NYU) in 1972.

For the past 20 years, Dr. McCagg has worked primarily with head-injured patients. JRI's Center for Head Injuries was featured in the HBO Documentary "COMA," which poignantly portrays patients with traumatic brain injury, as well as the 2005 Discovery Health documentary, "The Man Who Slept for 19 Years." Dr. McCagg is a key member of the research team exploring the use of deep brain stimulation (DBS) in patients with traumatic brain injury.

In addition to her roles at JRI, Dr. McCagg is Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroscience/School of Graduate Medical Education at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ; and Attending Physiatrist in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Shore Rehabilitation Institute in Brick, NJ.
