School and Community Based Programs

The JRI Pediatric Rehabilitation Department has been providing children with therapy and related services in convenient, local settings for more than 15 years. Our school-based therapy services throughout central New Jersey give children the special help they need to make the most of their educational experiences.

Our school-certified and licensed therapists possess expertise in designing and implementing educationally relevant programs to ensure progress and to enhance integration into the least restrictive environment.

We also offer coordinated services with several medical institutions. Our special collaborative efforts bring the beneficial therapies of the JRI Pediatric Rehabilitation Department to children in outlying areas who might otherwise not be able to benefit from pediatric specialists.

Community off-site services include:

  • Physical, occupational and speech therapy to classified students in more than 10 local school districts
  • Speech therapy services at St. Peter's Medical Center through the Cleft Palate Cranio-Facial Clinic, Neonatal High-Risk Infant Follow-up Program and Intensive Care Nursery
  • Physical and occupational therapy at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center's High-Risk Infant Program and Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery
  • Specialized physical therapy consultation to the Spina Bifida Clinic at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School working with medical team members and families to provide comprehensive, coordinated services that assure the best treatment for each individual
  • Specialized consultant services at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for pediatric and adult patients with hemophilia, providing continuity of care through the life of the individual in coordination with other health care professionals
