Our Mission: A Commitment to Children
- To facilitate the child's skills in all developmental areas: movement, cognition, communication, social-emotional health, psychosocial health and adaptive behavior.
- To assist family members in adjusting to the impact of living with a child with special needs and to develop nurturing and care giving skills.
Nothing is more important to us than the health of the children in our care. Our pediatric rehabilitation programs bring together resources, specialists and technology to help each child lead a healthy, fulfilling life.
Our Philosophy: Child- and Family-Centered
Every detail of the Pediatric Rehabilitation Department of the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute (JRI) has been designed with the best interests of the children we serve in mind. Our child-friendly facility (a renovated school building) offers fully-equipped gyms for physical and occupational therapy. Our bright cheerful rooms include observation booths so parents can see and hear their children interacting and learning.
