Directions
No matter where you are coming from, the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute is never far away. Following are directions to both our inpatient and outpatient facilities. Scroll down to find the facility you are looking for.
To 65 James Street in Edison
From New York or Newark: Take the New Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 11. Pick up the Garden State Parkway North to Exit
131, making a right off the exit (Route 27). At the fourth light, James Street, make a right and the hospital is a short distance on the left.
Or, if you take the Garden State Parkway South to Exit 131, continue as above, except that you will enter Route 27 past the first traffic light.
From Philadelphia: Take the New Jersey Turnpike North to Exit 10 leading to Route 287 to Route 1 North. At the Menlo Park Mall, exit on the right, going around a jughandle onto Parsonage Road. Continue straight past the mall and underpass to a traffic light at Route 27 (landmarks are Rite Aid on the left and Dunkin' Donuts on the right). Parsonage Road becomes James Street and the hospital is a short distance on the left.
To the JRI Outpatient Center at Metuchen
481 Memorial Parkway, Metuchen
From Somerville, Bridgewater, Somerset area: Take Route 287 South to exit marked New Durham/Metuchen. As you exit and come to the traffic light, make a left turn and continue for about one mile until the road curves left. Our building is on the right.
From East Brunswick, Old Bridge area: Route 18 to Route 1 North to 287 North. Exit at Route 27/Metuchen. A the traffic light, make a left turn, go over the bridge and make a quick right turn onto Middlesex Avenue. Got to the stop sign and our building will be on the right.
From Northern New Jersey: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 10, following signs to 287 North. Exit at route 27/Metuchen. Make a left turn at the traffic light, go over the bridge and make a quick right onto Middlesex Avenue. Go to the stop sign and our building will be on the right.
From Garden State Parkway: Take the Garden State Parkway to Exit 131 to Tour
Route 1 South to Route 287 North. Exit at Route 27/Metuchen. Make a left turn at the traffic light, go over the bridge and make a quick right onto Middlesex Avenue. Go to the stop sign and our building will be on the right.
From New Brunswick, Franklin Park area: Take Route 27 North toward Metuchen. Make a left turn onto Bridge Street. Go over the bridge and make a quick right onto Middlesex Avenue. Got to the stop sign and out building will be on your right.
To the Outpatient Center at Monroe
300 Overlook Drive, Monroe Township
From the New Jersey Turnpike: Take the turnpike to Exit 8A (Jamesburg). After toll, bear left to Monroe. Go right at
second light (Applegarth Road). Proceed to second light, go left onto Cranbury-Half Acre Road. Go to stop sign and make right onto Union Valley-Half Acre Road. Ponds View Plaza is 1/2 mile on left.
To the Outpatient Center at Old Bridge
42 Throckmorton Lane, Old Bridge
Route 9 South: Take Route 9 South to Throckmorton Lane/Ticetown Road exit. At end of ramp, make a right on to Throckmorton Lane. The Outpatient Center at Old Bridge is located at 42 Throckmorton Lane, about 200 yards on the right.
Route 9 North: Take Route 9 North to Throckmorton Lane/Ticetown Road exit. At end of ramp, make a left on to Throckmorton Lane. The Outpatient Center at Old Bridge is located at 42 Throckmorton Lane, about 300 yards on the right.
To Facilities on Oak Tree Road
(including the Center for Head Injuries, Cognitive Rehabilitation Program, and the Pediatric Rehabilitation Department)
From New York or Newark: Take the New Jersey Turnpike North to Exit 11. Pick up the Garden State Parkway North to Exit 131, making a right off the exit (Route 27). At the first light, (Wood Avenue), make a right. Proceed to the first traffic light, Oak Tree Road. (Burger King on left). Turn left onto Oak Tree Road and proceed through two traffic lights. Approximately .8 mile past the second traffic light (Grove Avenue) you will see a large red brick building on the right hand side. It is a former school. Sign on lawn says "Hartwyck".
Or, if you take the Garden State Parkway South to Exit 131. Turn right at the end of the ramp. Proceed to second light (Wood Avenue). Follow remainder of directions for driving North.

To the Fitness Center
