Day Rehabilitation
The Day Rehabilitation Program at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute (JRI) in central New Jersey is designed for patients who are medically stable enough to live at home, but require several rehabilitation therapies. These may include any combination of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and/or rehabilitation psychology.
JRI's Day Rehab Program serves many types of patient needs, including:
- As progression from a stay in an inpatient rehabilitation program
- As a substitute for inpatient rehabilitation, when the patient is medically stable enough to live at home
- As a program for patients with chronic illness who have been losing the ability to function independently
Each patient receives a personalized program based upon an intake evaluation at our NJ facility. Services provided may include:
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Psychology
- Speech therapy
Patients attend the Day Rehabilitation Program two to three days per week between 10:00 a.m. and 4 p.m. Therapy services are coordinated to provide maximum benefit and eliminate duplication of services. All patients are evaluated to determine what activities they require help with at both the start and completion of the program and to help establish appropriate goals.
Upon discharge from the Day Rehab Program, most patients are given a comprehensive home program to help patients continue to improve. Many patients are also referred for follow-up medical and therapy services as needed, including continued outpatient sessions of a particular therapy and fitness programs to help maintain the skills acquired in the Day Rehabilitation Program.
JRI's Day Rehabilitation Program has received the highest commendations from our patients over the years. Our staff welcomes questions about this innovative and valuable service. For more information, please call 732-321-7707.
