New Technologies
Keeping with technology, the Prosthetic and Orthotic Lab was the first facility in the United States to use the CAPOD CAD/CAM system non-contact laser scanner. This gives the staff the ability to obtain a model of a patient's limb within seconds instead of taking a plaster cast. The facility was also the first in New Jersey to fit patients with the Otto Bock C-Leg, an exciting new computerized knee for above knee amputees.
Education
- The laboratory was one of the first companies in New Jersey to have an ABC Accredited P&O Residency Program and has gained recognition as the top program in the state.
- The staff maintains their knowledge of the field by taking continuing education courses throughout the year.
